GAPA, celebrated Heritage ‘Week’ and the International Day for Older Persons on the 1st October – in association with STTOP, Ikamva Labantu, Street Talk, District 6 Museum, NOAH and many more at the Home Coming Centre, Cape Town #60isTheNew40.
The Event was entitled,
In.Herit.Age: “Celebrating our Cape Cultural Inheritance Through the Eyes of Older Persons”
It was a great success, with various organisations showcasing the work they do with older persons and GAPA being one of them, as well as hearing stories from the ages; some being heart wrenching and others heart-warming. Thanks to those who organised and hosted it; to the MC and speakers! #inheritance #grandparentlove

A Holocaust Survivor… one of the speakers, who brought tears to most eyes. South Africa is not alone when it comes to nations and people experiencing oppression and segregation and injustice. The lady of strength spoke about the need to forgive and at times forget, in order to move on in peace and kindness. Something the Grandmothers know a lot about.
