In JUNE, 2014, GAPA launched the Mobile Clinic Initiative in association with the City of Cape Town Health Department’s Sub-district of Khayelitsha. The momentum has grown. GAPA would like to thank the various community health clinics in Khayelitsha, and their health workers who have dedicated time and continue to dedicate their lives to their neighbours. We had 67 members of the community arrive at our premises for October’s Mobile Clinic day, where cervical screening, breast screening, HIV testing, childhood immunisations, de-worming, family planning, blood pressure and blood sugar monitoring was conducted by some of the friendliest health workers in town!

Community members can listen to GAPA’s slot on Radio Zibonele at 9:00 every Wednesday morning to find out more about these Mobile Clinic Days.

We look forward to this initiative further developing next year and the culmination for this year, with our Men’s Health Event in November!
